MEMORIAL PROJECT

One of the purposes of the United Daughters of the confederacy is memorial - to honour the memory of our gallant Confederate defenders.  One of the the important ways the UDC does this is to record the site of internment of Confederate Veterans. 

In 2004, the Florida Division UDC embarked upon a project to record all the sites in Florida of internments of Confederate Veterans.

The Augusta Jane Evans Wilson Chapter immediately formed a committee to enthusiastically support this effort.  Joining with our brothers, the Gen. Jubal A. Early Camp, we are systematically undertaking the survey of cemeteries in Eastern Pasco County. 

In addition to compiling information gathered for the Florida Division UDC, we will maintain an internment inventory on this site into posterity for the results we find.
